Get your needles ready! Coastal Yarns' fall knitalong is coming soon!

We will be knitting "Frejya Lopapeysa," designed by Ragga Eiríksdóttir.

The knitalong will be done using Lopi Plötulopi,
a worsted-weight unspun Icelandic wool!

This stunning cardigan pattern includes sizes from XS-6X,
so there's a perfect fit for everyone!

Needles:

Other Notions: 4 stitch markers, darning needle, 4 pieces of scrap yarn, button(s) for your cardi.

Techniques Used:
- The cardigan is knit in the round, starting from the bottom.

- All stitches are knit, except for one purled stitch in the middle front.
  (This is the steek stitch.)

- Short rows are used to increase the length of the back piece and the height of the back of the neck for a more flattering look.

- Stranded Colorwork (In this sweater there are only 2 colors, so the pattern knitting is very doable.)

About the Yarn:
Lopi Plötulopi is a light and lofty unspun Icelandic wool yarn. Though this unspun yarn feels fragile while you work, it creates warm, sturdy garments and felts fabulously.

About the Pattern: "Frejya Lopapeysa", designed by Ragga Eiríksdóttir.

This lovely lopapeysa (Icelandic for the classic woollen yoke sweater/cardigan) is knitted from the lightweight and versatile unspun Lopi. The pattern is an old eight petal rose taken from the Icelandic “Sjónabók”, a collection of old patterns found in Icelandic art and handcrafts through the ages.

About the Knitalong: Have your materials ready to start your cast on October 1st! Bring your sweater to Knit Night on Friday nights throughout the following weeks to check in on your progress and discuss the project with your fellow knitters!
